Bloke pulls off $603 jackpot at GoldenPalace

A lucky player struck it gold playing a progressive slot machine at Internet casino GoldenPalace.com which brought him $603,211, the www.onlinecasinonews.com website reported.

The winner, David P., said he was playing Gold Rally, a wild-west themed slot machine based on the Playtech software package designed by Golden Palace.com.

David placed the maximum $16 bet in the biggest single win ever recorded in the seven-year history of the casino.

“Although we’ve paid out millions of dollars over the years, this is the biggest single amount we’ve ever paid out to any one individual,” said GoldenPalace.com CEO Richard Rowe. “In fact it’s been quite a month for jackpot winners. Just a few weeks ago, Kyle A. hit it big with a $320,000 jackpot playing ‘Let Them Ride’ Poker. That’s almost one million dollars in jackpots paid out in a single month to only two players! 2004 is shaping up to be a record year for jackpot winners.”

“This is unbelievable,” David commented on his huge win. “When I saw my win on the screen I didn’t think it was real. I figured it was too good to be true and there must be some mistake. Now that it’s finally sunk in, I’m deciding what to do with the money. I’ll be paying off my mortgage and all my debts. I feel elated…like a big burden lifted. Makes you feel good, it really does.”

Sixteen online casinos get eCOGRA’s seal

eCOGRA, an independent public organization that protects Internet casino consumers, has awarded its seal of approval to sixteen online casinos, after an international audit group has conducted a series of rigorous tests meant to ensure that online operators comply with eCOGRA’s strict requirements, reported the www.onlinecasinonews.com web-site.

Andrew Beveridge, eCOGRA’s CEO said, “The current batch of seal-holders is a mix of successful first time candidates and operations which did not initially meet our eGAP requirements and have had to reorganize their systems in order to fully comply. We are now satisfied that all operational and business aspects are in line with our eGAP principles.”

eCOGRA’s primary objectives are to ensure that casinos are financially stable, have effective player protection measures and appropriate customer support systems, pay the winners on time, do not cheat etc. A number of other online casinos are still awaiting to pass the tests.

Beveridge said: “The latest seal awards bring to thirty-nine the top class casinos that have voluntarily submitted to our genuine self-imposed regulation. More casinos are currently being inspected, and interest in the eCOGRA standards and implementation is growing in the industry from players, casinos and software providers alike”.
